HOME BOARDING FOR DOGS
Home Dog Boarding in a Calm, Family Home Setting
Leaving your dog, even briefly, can feel worrying. Knowing they’re safe and settled matters.
Our home boarding offers a calm, familiar alternative to kennels. Your dog spends the day in structured daycare, then goes home in the evening with familiar staff, following a routine they already trust.
What Our Lovely Dog Owners Have To Say ...
Home Boarding Designed Around Your Dog’s Routine
Dogs feel happiest when life feels familiar, which is why our home boarding follows a calm, predictable routine.
During the day, your dog attends our daycare from 7.30am to 5.30pm, building confidence, enjoying structured play, and forming positive bonds with people and other dogs.
Alongside this, our home boarders enjoy gentle enrichment during their stay, including regular visits to our own private, secure paddock, occasional pool sessions, and planned outings such as beach trips or seasonal activities, all designed to add variety without disrupting routine before heading home in the evening to relax and sleep in a real home environment with one of our trained team.
A Structured Approach That Puts Welfare First
Every dog is different, and we never rush the settling process. Before boarding, all dogs complete an assessment and attend at least three daycare sessions so they can get used to our team, routine, and environment. For stays longer than two nights, we also ask for an overnight trial to make sure your dog eats, sleeps, and settles comfortably.
We are proud to hold two separate 5-star licences for home boarding and dog daycare, reflecting our commitment to high welfare standards. Your dog’s safety extends beyond our facilities too. All home boarding dogs are transported daily in our specialist van, travelling in individual crash-tested crates to keep every journey calm, secure, and stress-free.

Meet Lindsey & Her Home Boarding Team
Lindsey is the owner of A Groom With A View and has worked in professional pet care since 1996. She founded the business in 2005 with a strong focus on calm handling, high welfare standards, and building trust with both dogs and owners.
In 2016, Lindsey expanded into daycare and home boarding to give dogs a safe, home-from-home alternative to kennels. Dog welfare has always been at the heart of everything she does.
The Benefits of Dog Home Boarding
Home boarding is designed for dogs who feel more at ease in a home setting. Sleeping indoors with people close by often feels familiar and reassuring, which can make overnight stays feel far more comfortable for both dogs and their owners.
Dogs follow a known daily pattern
Your dog’s day keeps a familiar rhythm, with regular mealtimes, rest periods, and activity that mirrors what they are used to. This predictability helps dogs feel comfortable and reduces uncertainty during their stay.
Evenings and nights in a household setting
Instead of kennels, dogs spend evenings and nights in a real home environment. This suits dogs who are used to being indoors with people nearby and helps them relax and settle more easily overnight.
Consistent handling and supervision
Your dog is cared for by the same experienced team throughout their stay. Familiar faces mean better understanding of behaviour, routines, and any changes that need attention.
Peace of mind while you are away
Knowing how your dog’s care is structured, where they sleep, and who is looking after them allows you to focus on your time away without constant worry.
How We Work
We keep everything clear and transparent, so you know exactly what’s involved before your dog stays with us. Our process is the same for every dog and is designed to help them feel settled, confident, and safe.
STEP 1
Assessment Visit
All dogs start with an assessment before joining daycare or home boarding.
This is a one-hour visit priced at £15.
The assessment allows us to get to know your dog properly, understand their behaviour, and check they are comfortable in our environment. It also gives your dog a gentle introduction without pressure.
All dogs must be fully vaccinated before attending, including kennel cough, which is not always included in routine boosters.
STEP 2
Daycare Sessions
After the assessment, your dog attends daycare sessions before boarding.
This step is essential and helps your dog build familiarity with the routine, the space, and the people caring for them.
During home boarding stays, dogs attend daycare between 7:30am and 5:30pm, so we need to be confident they are relaxed and happy in that setting.
STEP 3
Home Boarding
Once your dog is settled and comfortable in daycare, they can stay overnight with us.
Dogs staying longer than two nights are asked to complete an overnight trial first. This helps us make sure they eat, sleep, and settle well in a home environment before a longer stay.
Our boarding dogs spend the day in daycare and go home in the evening with our staff, following a familiar routine in a real household setting.
This process applies to all new dogs and helps ensure overnight stays are a positive experience.
